Recipe Type: turnip, garnish, turnip rose garnish

Prep Time: 10 min
Total Time:10 min
Yield: 1 turnip rose garnish

Ingredients:

1 Turnip, peeled, sliced 1/8-inch thick (10 to 15 slices are needed per rose)
red food coloring

Instructions:

On a flat surface overlap turnip slices slightly into a long continuous row; roll up as tightly as possible without breaking the slices. Cut a thin slice off one end to sit level.

Put a few drops of food coloring of your choice (I used red) on a plate, dip the uncut end of the rolled up turnip slices briefly into a food coloring.

Place upright on a plate and adjust pedals as necessary to resemble a rose. Place one on each individual plate.

Wine recommendation: Pinot Gris; Chardonnay
