Valentine Ice Cream Heart DessertA really

1 cup ice cream, your favorite flavor
strawberry fan garnish
2 mint sprigs
Chocolate Ganache (recipe below)
Spoon ice cream into a 1/2-inch shallow dish or pan and freeze.
Using a heart shaped cookie cutter, cut out hearts. Put one ice cream heart on each plate, decorate with chocolate ganache, add a strawberry fan garnish and serve. Can be made in advance.
Chocolate Ganache Sauce
2 tablespoons heavy cream
1-1/2 teaspoons corn syrup
1-1/2 ounces bittersweet or semisweet chocolate, finely chopped
Combine ingredients in a small saucepan over low heat whisking until chocolate is melted and smooth. Pour into a squirt bottle (I use a plastic catsup or mustard container with a small opening). Can be made 2 weeks ahead, refrigerate. When ready to use microwave the ganache for a few seconds if necessary until it is softened, test on a plate before using to see if it is of the right consistency).
