Strawberry
Napoleon Puff Pastry Heart Dessert

Serves 2
1 - (15 ounce) package frozen pie crust, thawed 1 cup heavy cream
1 cup fresh strawberries, slice 1/2 teaspoon powdered sugar Chocolate syrup
for garnish
Roll pastry to 1/16-inch thick. Use a cookie cutter to cut 6 hearts.
Bake on parchment lined sheet pan at 375° for 4 to 8 minutes or until lightly
brown. Whip the cream to soft peaks. Place one baked pastry on each plate, add small amount of whipped cream and sliced strawberries. Continue building
the Napoleon until each plate has 3 pastry hearts with whipped cream and strawberries
between. Dust tops with powdered sugar, add chocolate syrup swirls.
Garnish with strawberry fans, strawberry coulis (recipe follows), mint sprigs and serve.
Strawberry Coulis (sauce)
3 fresh strawberries, stems remoed 1/2 teaspoon cornstarch
Cut strawberries in small pieces; push through a fine
sieve with the back of a spoon.Microwave the coulis for 1 minute, add
cornstarch, stir and microwave again until
strawberry coulis thickens.
Wine recommendation: Champagne
