An easy Valentine's Day dessert that looks impressive and tastes refreshingly delicious. Simply freeze your favorite ice cream in a shallow pan, cut out hearts using a cookie cutter, place one on each plate then decorate the plate for an easy and unique way to celebrate Valentine's Day with someone special... This is so easy to make!

Valentine Dessert, Ice Cream Heart
source: recipe and photograph created by www.finedinings.com

Serves: 2

Ingredients

1 cup ice cream, your favorite flavor
strawberry fan garnish
2 mint sprigs

Chocolate Ganache Sauce
2 tablespoons heavy cream
1-1/2 teaspoons corn syrup
1-1/2 ounces bittersweet or semisweet chocolate, chopped fine

Directions
Spoon ice cream into a shallow pan to a depth of 1/2-inch and freeze. Cut into hearts using a cookie cutter or stencil or template. Put one ice cream heart on each plate, decorate with chocolate ganache sauce, add the strawberry fan garnish and serve. Can be made in advance.

Chocolate Ganache Sauce
Combine ingredients in a small saucepan over low heat whisking until chocolate is melted and smooth. Pour into a squirt bottle (I use a plastic catsup or mustard container with a small opening). Can be made 2 weeks ahead, refrigerate. When ready to use microwave the ganache for a few seconds if necessary until it is softened, test before using on a plate).

Wine recommendation: Pinot Gris; Chardonnay
