French Dip Sandwich and Au Jus Recipe

1 pound rare roast beef, thinly sliced or shredded
4 French rolls
Salt and pepper, to taste

Au Jus:
10-1/2 ounce can French Onion soup
10-1/2 ounce can Beef Broth soup
1 can cold water
1/2 teaspoon white granulated sugar
2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
1/8 teaspoon salt


Layer roast beef on French rolls or baguettes, add salt and pepper according to taste and serve with Au jus.

Make au jus sauce by combining both soups, water, sugar, Worcestershire sauce and salt together in a saucepan, bring to a boil, remove from heat; strain, discard onions. Serve hot in small containers for dipping. makes 3-1/2 cups.

Garnish with watermelon slices if desired, seasoned with cracked black pepper and chopped mint along side this sandwich, it is a refreshing combination.

Wine recommendation: Pinot Noir; Cabernet Sauvignon; Merlot
