this is a very easy hors d'oeuvre, a snap to put
together,
serve them with a flavorful barbecue sauce, if desired or
simply as they are,
either way, they are delicious, your guests will love them.
If I am not serving them right away,
I like to pop them under the broiler for a couple minutes
just to heat them slightly

Bacon
Wrapped Mushroom Appetizer

Makes 20 10 slices thin smoked bacon, halved crosswise 20 medium sized button mushrooms,
stems removed Cracked
black pepper Sprinkle bacon slices generously with cracked pepper, wrap
one around each mushroom stretching slightly to fit
snug,
toothpicks are not needed. Place
appetizers
seam side down on foil lined baking sheet. Bake at 400° for 15
minutes; transfer baking sheet under the broiler for 3 minutes to crisp the
bacon. Remove from the oven, blot appetizers on paper towels and serve on a
platter
garnished
with fresh herbs, if desired.
