Bacon Wrapped Mushroom Appetizer

Prep Time: 15 min   Cook Time: 18 min  
Yield: 20

Ingredients:

10 slices thin smoked bacon, halved crosswise
20 medium size button mushrooms, stems removed
Cracked black pepper

toothpicks

Instruction:

Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.

Sprinkle bacon slices generously with cracked black pepper, wrap one slice around each mushroom stretching slightly to fit snugly, no need to use toothpicks to hold them together.

Arrange them seam side down on foil lined baking sheet. Bake for 15 minutes; transfer baking sheet under the broiler for 3 minutes to crisp them. Remove from broiler, blot appetizers on paper towels and serve on a platter, place toothpicks nearby.
Garnish platter with fresh herbs, if desired.

Wine recommendation: Pinot Noir; Cabernet Sauvignon; Beer
