Asiago
Cheese Puff Appetizer

Makes 20 appetizers
5 thin
white sandwich bread slices
1 cup Asiago cheese, finely grated
2 tablespoons yellow or white onion, finely chopped
3 tablespoons mayonnaise
3/4 teaspoon fresh Thyme, finely chopped pinch salt dash of Cayenne pepper
Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.
Trim crusts from bread. Cut 4 round (or square) pieces from each slice. Bake on
a sheet pan at 400 degrees F for 3 to 4 minutes or until lightly toasted.
This can be done in advance, covered at room temperature.
In a small bowl combine Asiago cheese, onion, mayonnaise, thyme and cayenne pepper. Spread the Asiago mixture on
the toasted bread. Return to the oven, bake 5 to 8 minutes or until puffed and
golden. Serve hot or cold.
